The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

August 14, 2010

I’m not usually one for best sellers, mainly because they often suck, but someone forced me recommended that I read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and, I really enjoyed it. Blatant foreshadowing, predictability and the happy fulfillment of stereotypes you saw coming from the get-go (hot, single ladies-man protagonist + alternative, punk but we-are-ensured-of-her-beauty leading lady) and frankly gigantic font makes for an easy read, and a really good who dunnit story will keep you reading to the end.

I have decided against reading the next two for the moment but if you can keep your cynicism in check and have a few hours to kill, indulge yourself in this book.

Did you know they’re coming out with an American version of the movie? (There is already a Swedish one) I can’t think of who would play Salander (the punk) except maybe Ellen Page who could be a really cool/unexpected pick, but for the protagonist, currently-cast Daniel Craig should be out and Simon Baker should be in – behold the perfect Blomkvist:
