Katy B: Katy On A Mission

I blogged about Katy B‘s singles last year, and her EP was in my top 10 of 2010. Her new full length Katy on a Mission does not dissapoint. Katy files among the ranks of Adele, Robyn and other recent female power houses but stands on a class all her own. It’s refreshing to hear a pop artist who has the chops to be a new Katy Perry or Lady Gaga, but doesn’t feel the need to be gimmicky (although female dub-step pioneer might be one that plagues her; in any case she is more pop that dub). British folk are probably well versed with Katy B, but I’m hoping her talent translates across the sea. Don’t sleep – freeload here for the N.Americans (itunes for the Brits).
